Hokkaido Trip, Day 1 (Aug 8, Day 71 in Japan)

This is my first trip to further Japan alone. I packed my bag yesterday with a list. According to my plan, I get up at 4:05, then have a shower, and have breakfast. After the preparation, I start my journey at 4:45. I was worrying about missing the earliest train to Ueno. However, although I walked from my dorm to Kandatsu station, I got the station on time at 5:10. I got on the earliest train to Ueno at 5:16. It's good time for sleeping when you don't have enough sleep. I arrived at Ueno station at 6:27. And the train to Utsunomiya (宇都宮) would start at 6:53, which is a little different from the schedule because today is a day of weekend. I arrived at Utsunomiya at 8:19, but the train to Kuroiso will go at 8:21, so the transferring time is very short, I hurried to catch the train.

The first day trip is completely caught the time on schedule. I did not take a photo when I start my trip. However, I took a photo of a train when I arrived at Kuroiso (黒磯) station at 9:39 where I transferred the train to Koriyama (郡山).

An interesting train head, taken at Koriyama station.

People are lining to get on the train. This photo is taken at Sendai station.

However, If you travel with Hokkaido & JR East Pass, you can get on summer holiday Tohoku Direct Train (東北縦貫号) without extra charge, but it is one-way from Koriyama (郡山) to Morioka (盛岡).

Then I arrived at Aomori station (青森駅) at 21:10, and I ran to the platform where the night train to Sapporo stops so that I can line in the 1/3 head of the line at the first door of a free-seating car. There are many people waiting to get on the train.

However, there were some people not getting seats.

After the whole night sleeping, I arrived Sapporo at 6:07 a.m.
