China Unnatural Disaster: Tears in Sichuan Province

Tears in Sichuan
China Unnatural Disaster: Tears in Sichuan Province, a documentary film, is made by Home Box Office, Inc., directed by the award-winning team of Jon Alpert and Matthew O'Neill (HBO's Baghdad ER). They recorded that parents of students who died in the earthquake on May 12, 2008 struggled for the justice of what caused their children dead.

In fact, in my opinion, although my major is not architecture or civil engineering, I can feel that the quality of school building is disqualified according common sense.

Local governments do not take this lesson, but cover the real toll and mentioned the disqualified buildings as qualified with concluding that the buildings were constructed by common style in 1990s.

The earthquake gave a bloody lesson, but officials do not take it.

Unnatural Disaster will cause damages more severely if governments don't focus on buildings' quality, don't penal corruption heavily.

"Stability is the all." is an extreme of practice. This unprincipled code will ruin the governance.

I honestly recommend this film: China Unnatural Disaster: Tears in Sichuan Province.
