Academic corruption is very serious in the country. Respected academicians, professors, tutors of doctoral students are involved, and the principals of colleges and universities, presidents, etc., and even some of the articles published by others to go their own articles. Why is that such a state of corruption? I think there are many reasons.
Firstly, good articles can bring them more good position. Some lecturers pursue the associate professor position, and associate professors pursue professor position, and someone pursue a title of academician by the poor means, like copying, post one article on more than one journal. In the country, the number of papers is an important index of pursuing a higher position.
Secondly, the whole society is very rash. Everybody wants to earn more money in short time. Some scholars take the fast way to get higher position so that they can get many research projects which can bring them more wealth. But they never take part in the research activity.
Thirdly, there is lack of academic supervisory organ in the country. So the fraud scholars can survive.
Finally, the afflication always hides up the fraud scholar. why? They think opening the cheating will lose their faces, hurt the image of the university, college, institute.
How to keep the academic corruption in limits? I think there are several pieces of advices:
- Calm down your rash heart. Do research step by step.
- Build an academic supervisory organ, which deals with academic corruption specially.
- The afflication should punish the fraud people seriously.
